About Us

The Tucson Electric Vehicle Association  - or TEVA - is a group of southern Arizona-based electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts. It's also a chapter of the Electric Auto Association.  TEVA advocates for environmentally clean, sustainable, petroleum-free personal transportation.

We participate in public gatherings to promote  electric vehicle (EV) awareness. This includes the annual local  contribution to National Drive Electric Week, which is celebrated each September across the United States and in several foreign countries. We also participate in any number of southern Arizona festivals through the fall, winter and spring months, including the Envision Sustainable Festival, Tucson Meet Yourself, Earth Day at Reid Park and at Biosphere II near Oracle. Please visit our Events page for information on where we’ll be displaying our vehicles next.

As the students move to each STEM display location they stop by our display to ask questions about EVs and EV technology.

The Tucson Electric Vehicle Association meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month to discuss EV news and plan upcoming activities. There are also occasional “how to” workshops and seminars, where you can learn about the various aspects of what makes an EV work. Get more information on all of this on our Meetings page.

The Tucson Electric Vehicle Association has been in existence, off and on, since the mid 1990s. Take a look at our About Us page for a more detailed retelling of our past.

Until about 2011, most electric vehicles seen on the streets were conversions of gasoline-powered cars. Since then, auto manufacturers have been rolling out an increasing variety of EVs for commercial sale or lease. A portion of this site features a photo gallery of Vehicles - both conversions and manufactured ones - belonging to our members.

We’ll keep you up to date with electric vehicles news - international to local - on our Blog, where you can also add your comments and observations. And our Links page provides a bridge to a broad scope of electric vehicle web sites.

Finally, don’t hesitate to visit our Contact page, where you can email our club officers. Let us know what you think of this site and how we can improve it. This is also where you can download a PDF copy of the Tucson Electric Vehicle Association’s membership application.
